Important information

Important information

The new XMOS-driver version 1.61.0 with improved USB 3.0 and Windows 8 support may require a firmware update prior to installation of the new driver. The XMOS-card must be removed from the customer's device and shipped directly back to Lindemann (Germany) by your local importer. 

Therefore, we recommend this update ONLY to customers with computers experiencing technical problems with USB 3.0.

Version 1.61.0 is not different to 1.43.0 in terms of sound or general performance!

Devices (825 HD Disc Player & USB-DAC 24/192) that have been produced after April 1, 2012, already include the new firmware.

A firmware update is necessary prior to installing the new driver version 1.1.2, which can be processed by yourself.

All units of the USB-DDC 24/192 that shipped after April 1, 2012, already include the new firmware and drivers.

USB-DDC 24/192

Lindemann recommends driver version 1.1.2 for all USB-DDC 24/192.

Please note: Prior to installation of the new drivers, a firmware update must be processed!

Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 (32/64bit) & MAC OS X

USB-DAC 24/192

In order to download the correct driver, it is essential to specify the chipset used in your Lindemann USB-DAC 24/192. 

If unsure, please proceed as follows: 

A) Open the housing of your DAC first. These are the required steps:

  1. Remove all cables.
  2. Remove the screws on the rear panel (TX 8 screwdriver)
  3. Remove the rear panel.
  4. Pull out the board. If the board is stiff and difficult to move, remove the screws of the front panel and push the board from the front side. Do not touch the LEDs!

B) Identify the USB-chipset. Currently there are three different versions of the Lindemann USB-DAC 24/192 circulating in the market. See pictures below for further specification.

TENOR Chipset
This version can be identified by the white label „Lindemann USB HD-Audio 24/192 Asynchronous Mode“.

Basic information:

  • Production prior to July 2011
  • Suitable driver version: TENOR 1.1.2
  • Please note: Prior to installation of the driver a firmware update must be processed! Read the manual for further information.
  • OS supported: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit) & Mac OS X.

This version can be identified by the silver quartz (XTAL).

Basic information:

  • Production between July 2011 and March 2012
  • Suitable driver version: XMOS 1.43.0
  • OS supported: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit) & Mac OS X.

This version can be identified by the red marked quartz (XTAL).

Basic information:

  • Production after April 1, 2012
  • Suitable driver version:: XMOS 1.61.0
  • OS supported: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit), Windows 8 (32/64bit) & Mac OS X.
