The D 680 is a CD player for music lovers who take a no-compromise approach to the reproduction of their CDs, HDCDs or Super Audio CDs.
Thanks to the incorporation of a number of innovative signal processing techniques, the D 680 plays conventional CDs with previously unimagined musicality and, with Super Audio CDs, reveals just what today's audio equipment is really capoble of - impressively naturol tonal colours, stunning transporency and airiness, enormous spatial depth and involving dynamics.
Combi transport with twin laser pickup and separate signal processors
Combi transport with twin laser pickup and separate signal processors
The combi transport with twin laser pickup and coated glass lenses is designed to extract the maximum amount of information from the disk. The sophisticated servo electronics benefit from separate CD ond SACD signal processors for accurate reading of both data formats. The complete transport unit is decoupled from the case by a cast aluminium frame and polymer dampers. The CD-Text capable transport is impressively quiet in operation ond offers fast search and access times.
High Definition Resampling Architecture
High Definition Resampling Architecture
The HiDRA® (High Definition Resampling Architecture) technology developed by Lindemann audiotechnik delivers a tremendous improvement in sound quality over conventional CD players, with high-precision clock oscillators (one each for CD ond SACD) making a key contribution to its impressive "analogue" sound quality.
Latest converter technology
Latest converter technology
Conversion of the digital data is handled by the very latest D/A converter modules, which guarrantee maximum dynamics while keeping distortion to very low levels. These are able to deal both with PCM data (CD,HDCD) at l92kHz/1-bit and DSD data (SACD) at 2.8224Mhz/1-bit.
There is a separate converter module for each channel, which improves the sound quality in mono mode. The anologue filter stages are dual-balanced to provide o fully symmetrical signal-processing path from the converter input to the analogue output.
Discrete Class A output stages
Discrete Class A output stages
Class A output stages using discrete circuitry deliver the lowest possible distortion irrespective of load. The filter and output stages are fitted with the highest quality components such as silver mica capacitors and ultrafast high—grade amplifier modules.
Completely separate supplies for converter and output stages
Completely separate supplies for converter and output stages
An outboard power supply with built—in filter delivers virtually noise—free power to the converters and output stages.
